Rotary Young Chef

Jadene Wade (10/4) winner of the Halifax Regional Rotary Club Cookery competition (held November 2011) had a recent visit from a local former Master Chef contestant. Ben Varley Head Chef at The Rock, Stainland came into school to help Jadene prepare her menu for the semi-final in Harrogate next week.

Her menu is a three course meal and judges will examine on taste, cost, healthiness and presentation. Her starter is a Carrot and Ginger Soup with bread rolls, followed by Salmon with a Mango Salsa, new potatoes and watercress and a dessert of Lemon Cheesecake served with kiwi and berry coulis. The two contestants that impress the judges the most will then go head-to-head in the final heat of the competition in Essex later on in the year.
