Our students are expected to wear the official school dress. This is of simple design and does not include any exclusive items obtainable from specialist stockists. Examples of school dress will be shown at intake parents evenings for new pupils.


Girls

Black/Navy school skirt worn just above the knee (no tube, no gypsy, mini or inappropriate skirts are allowed) with white blouse. School jumper - Navy V Neck blue with school logo or Navy blue school blazer with school logo Navy/Black school trousers (Plain black belt) School Tie - must be fastened up to collar ( long enough so 5 stripes showing on tie) Sensible Shoes - plain black (not trainers or trainer shoes) Socks or tights should be plain black or navy.


Boys

Navy or Black school trousers, plain white shirts. Shirts must be tucked in at all times, school tie must be fastened up to collar. ( long enough so 5 stripes showing on tie) School jumper - Navy V Neck blue with logo or Navy blue school blazer with school logo Sensible Shoes - plain black (not trainers or trainer shoes) Plain black belt


New navy blue blazers available in school for £25. Navy blue v-neck jumpers bearing the school logo are available through the school office at £15. School ties are obtainable from school at £4. It is not possible to give prices for other garments since parents may purchase school clothing at any shop.


The school does NOT allow jeans, pumps, training shoes, boots or shoes with metal toecaps, heel tips etc. All clothing should be clearly marked with the pupil's name.


GIRLS' PHYSICAL EDUCATION EQUIPMENT

Navy Polo shirt - for year 7 2011(Lilac for the rest of the school until stock runs out) Navy/Black shorts Purple football socks Shin pads (hockey/football) White sports socks Training shoes (these must be properly laced and tied) Navy jumper / or sweatshirt Optional - Navy Gym skirt Navy/black tracksuit or tracksuit bottoms Towel.


BOYS' PHYSICAL EDUCATION EQUIPMENT

Tangerine rugby shirt with reversible blue hoop inside Blue football socks, Shin pads Blue shorts Training shoes and football boots (these must be laced and tied correctly)

TECHNOLOGICAL SUBJECTS

An apron is strongly advised as a protection for normal clothing which can be purchased from school for £4.


General Equipment - All pupils should have pens, pencils, ruler, eraser etc. We recommend a dictionary and a USB pen/memory stick. Jewellery – should not be worn in school for safety reasons. Earrings should not be worn, although one small stud in each ear is acceptable. No body piercing is permitted. Valuables should be handed in for safe-keeping, especially in P.E.


Hair colouring should always be natural and no extremely short or outlandish haircuts are allowed. No make up is allowed in Years 7, 8 and 9, but in Years 10 and 11 subtle make up is permitted.


It is Ryburn’s policy that mobile phones, MP3 players, Personal Stereos and IPods are not to be brought into school.
