Message from the Head Teacher
At Ryburn Valley High School we work hard to realise our school motto “Strive to Excel.” Ryburn is a 21st Century School with state of the art facilities built on traditional values. Our school is a caring, inclusive community and we promote high expectations to enable all our students to get to where they want to be.
Our supportive environment encourages each student to take responsibility for their own work and behaviour developing habits of self-reliance, self-discipline and consideration for others. We take every opportunity to celebrate success and students are able to take part in a wide range of academic, sporting, creative, spiritual and social experiences.
At all times from Year 7 to Year 13 we promote a strong partnership between home and school and parents and staff work closely together for the benefit of every individual in our care.
I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Ryburn Valley High School and I hope this website gives you an insight into our ethos and aims.
We are extremely optimistic for the future and believe that all the young people in our care are equipped to face whatever challenges and opportunities life may present.
Honor M Byford Headteacher
