National Online Safety - What Parents and Carers Need to Know About Spotify

Spotify - What you Need to Know

National Online Safety has released a new guide for parents and carers. This week’s content includes advice for parents and carers on their children’s use of Spotify.

Spotify is a digital music, podcast and video service allowing users access to a vast range of songs and other content from creators all over the world.

Whilst a great way for students to access music and other media, there are still some things parents and carers might want to consider. Through the app, they may be accessing songs with explicit lyrics or podcasts that aren’t age appropriate.

National Online Safety has fortunately put together some useful tips for parents and carers, such as switching to ‘Spotify Kids’ or simply censoring explicit content in the settings.
