We're proud to share that Ryburn has retained its Quality Mark Plus status from the Association for Character Education (ACE), reaffirming our place among the UK's leading schools for character education.
Following a renewal assessment in April 2026, ACE praised our 'unwavering and infectious passion' for character education, recognising our approach to developing values, character and personal growth alongside academic achievement. ACE Quality Mark Assessor Julie Taylor noted that 'character remains at the heart of school development' at Ryburn.
Assessors praised a number of areas across school life, including our new Character Codes initiative, which challenges students through three distinct strands: personal growth, practical experiences and community engagement. It was recognised for creating meaningful opportunities for students to develop resilience, responsibility and civic awareness.
Our wider enrichment offer also featured strongly, with student ambassadors singled out for their work supporting Year 6 transition activities, leading parent tours and representing the school with kindness and pride in the local community. The report also recognised our whole-school approach to character, from how we recruit and develop staff through to how character is embedded across the curriculum.
